A calm, baby-led experience


Meet sweet baby Jacob. His newborn photoshoot at my Vancouver studio was calm, minimalistic, and exactly the style I’m known for: neutral, modern and timeless.


What a session with me feels like

When Jacob arrived, we kept things easy. A feed, a burp, a little cuddle—then we started. If baby’s awake, I photograph those alert looks. If baby’s sleepy, we move into gentle wraps and relaxed posing. No rush, no complicated props—just clean, timeless newborn photos you’ll actually want on your walls.

  • Soft, neutral wraps and blankets (I provide everything)
  • Cozy studio kept warm for baby’s comfort. I have extra heaters on near baby when we do photos of baby naked.
  • Simple posing that focuses on tiny details—lashes, lips, toes
  • Parent and sibling photos included if you’d like


Safety and comfort = non-negotiable

I’m a professional newborn photographer in Vancouver and a mom of two boys, so safety always comes first. I always ensure baby's neck and body are supported with every pose. Parents are welcome to sit beside me and watch as I talk you through what I’m doing so you feel comfortable the whole time.


What to wear & how to prep

  • Dress baby in a zip sleeper (no onesie) for easy transitions
  • Feed right before you arrive or as soon as you get here—time is built in
  • Bring a pacifier if you use one; it helps with gentle settling
  • Parents: stick to neutrals and soft textures (cream, beige, taupe, grey, blacks)

This minimal wardrobe keeps the look consistent with my Vancouver newborn photography style and photographs beautifully.


The best time for newborn photos

The sweet spot is within 14 days after birth—usually days 5–14—when babies are extra sleepy and curly. Missed that window? No stress. We can still create beautiful images.


How to book your newborn session

  1. Reserve your due date as a placeholder while you’re still pregnant (2nd or 3rd trimester is recommended. This guarantees space in my calendar around your due date.)
  2. Baby arrives— you or your partner will send me a quick message to let me know baby has arrived.
  3. We confirm your actual session date within those first two weeks after birth.
